Personally, my favorite medium is the Internet. The World Wide Web encompasses multiple media sources within itself and can be used at one’s leisure. The Internet houses all social networking sites, from MySpace to Facebook and Twitter, some of these with their own instant messenger to talk to friends, while reading the news feed or updating your profile. Also found on the net are many of the top selling newspapers in the world. Rather than purchasing a daily or weekly paper, one can simply log on to the paper’s website and read for free, without worrying about price, time, or coffee spills. These papers can be found quickly, with just a click of the mouse, and may be more organized than the paper in print. While reading the online paper, you can easily find the topics of your interest by typing in the search window or clicking on of the tabbed sections, found conveniently at the top of the page.If you should prefer to construct your own piece of media, you can use an online blog. A blog is a sort of website, updated with posts and articles by an individual or group, detailing events, displaying pictures and video, with personal commentary.Email, a great alternative to “snail mail”, is found on the Internet. When finished with your email, you can send it out quickly to multiple groups of people, even sending a blind carbon copy to individuals, concealing the email addresses of message’s other recipients.Although some may prefer print sources of media, I believe the Internet to be the faster, easier, and cheaper alternative.
