Favorite Medium: Newspapers

Media today has expanded into various branches, using different sources, displaying different information, and occupying different mediums. Each of these attributes plays an important role in how media is distributed and who the audience is. One of the most rapidly changing features of modern media is the medium, due to rapid advances in technology.Every person favors a unique type of media, but I personally prefer newspapers. Newspapers are compact and east to carry around, unlike computers or TVs. They do not require internet service or an outlet, and are accessible anywhere you go. Although they do usually cost money, unlike online news, they are available to practically anyone. You may use them at your own pace and choose what interests you and you would like to read.Unlike other sources, newspapers typically display local, national and worldwide news. They conform to fit everybody’s desires, containing information you would not normally find together in other mediums, such as horoscopes, comics, sports, coupons, local announcements, stocks, and weather.Newspapers have been a part of our culture for centuries, and it would be a shame if they were abolished. The classic image of a businessman sitting on a bench with his newspaper is slowly being replaced by a man in his office with a laptop, or sitting on the couch in front of his TV. America has a large media industry creating newspapers, and it is hurting terribly, many places shutting down altogether. For people who cannot afford the latest technology, newspapers are essential to them. They are a connection to the world, and taking them away would be tyranny. America needs news just as we need a president, and I believe that the best way to convey this information is through newspapers.
